I can’t believe this is the last week for the series! This week our questions were asked by my two favorite people in the world. My parents! This year will mark their 40th wedding anniversary and 50 years as a couple. That is a whole lot of love. I decided to end the series with them because of the importance that they have for me, and in a lot of ways Joseph. We often discuss their dynamic in relation to our own and how we hope to have the same longevity.
In full disclosure, I was a little nervous to get interviewed by them because I didn’t know what kind of questions they would have but it turned out great and was a lot of fun. Check it out below!
Mom: What’s your favorite thing to do together?
Joseph: People watch. [both laugh] We look at the crazy things people do. I always see things that she doesn’t and we can’t stop laughing.
Me: Ok, this is going to sound cliche but I would have to say Netflix and chill but not for the reason you think! He is always making me watch the craziest things like that movie about the dead pimp that comes back from the dead and possesses people to avenge his death.
Mom: What?! [everyone laughs]
Dad: What is the most disruptive fashion trait of the other person?
Joseph: Nothing she wears bothers me. She is grown and can wear what she wants. If it gets crazy I don’t have to be seen with her. She can stay home. [laughing]
Me: WOW! You could have stopped at the first part, thanks! [laughs] Mine would be when he wears ankle socks with loafers. It drives me nuts!
Mom: What type of living environment do you prefer?
Me: [looking confused]
Mom: Like the type of home.
Joseph: Ok, I got this. The house that I want to live in is 4 levels. I want a basement, a main level and 2 levels above that.
Me: Those are a lot of stairs. [laughing] I am partial to a single family home but I also like the appeal of a condo. Condos are less responsibility on the homeowner. A house can be a lot of work
Joseph: Not really though
Me: [rolls eyes]
Dad: What foreign country would you love to visit?
Me: I’ll give you my top three. Thailand, Greece, and England
Joseph: Mine would be Ecuador, Dubai, and Australia
Mom: If you could live anywhere in the country what region would you choose?
Joseph: I have to have snow so I can live anywhere that they have snow.
Me: Yeah, along those lines I would say I need seasons. So I couldn’t live somewhere like Arizona.
Dad: What is the single trait that will make you leave your partner?
Joseph: Messed up teeth! If you have bad teeth I will kindly tell you to stay over there
Me: Really?!
Joseph: What? I’m serious!
Me: Lying. I don’t think there is a reason for it. If you lie to me the trust is gone. I think everything hinges from honesty. A lot of times people lie to control someone’s reaction. That never works. That’s not love.
